Most graduate students in the Computational Bioscience Program receive financial aid that covers their tuition, fees, health and dental insurance, training–related expenses (including some travel) and a stipend. Highly qualified students are eligible for National Library of Medicine Institutional Research Training Grant positions that pay up to a $30,000 per year stipend as well as provide additional travel and training expenses. Competitive internal awards offer additional opportunities for travel or research support.

Qualified students from under–represented minority groups are eligible for additional travel and other training benefits.

In order to compete with other programs for the very best students, the UC Denver Graduate School offers the
C. Werner and Kitty Hirs Merit Awards. Awards are an additional $4,000 per year for up to four years. Awards will be chosen based on student’s GPA, GRE scores, research experience and letters of recommendation. Up to three applicants per year judged to be outstanding by the School-wide committee will receive this award. Please include a separate letter in your application materials if you wish to be considered as a candidate for this award.
