Lawrence Hunter, Ph.D.
Email: Larry.Hunter@uchsc.edu
Home Page: http://compbio.uchsc.edu/hunter/
Research Areas: Development and application of advanced computational techniques for biomedicine, particularly the application of statistical and knowledge–based techniques to the analysis of high–throughput data and of biomedical texts. Also, neurobiologically and evolutionarily informed computational models of cognition, and ethical issues related to computational bioscience.

Debra Goldberg, Ph.D.
Email: Debra@cs.colorado.edu
Home Page: http://www.cs.colorado.edu/~debra
Research Areas: Development of combinatorial and graph algorithms to solve problems in genomics, in order to help biologists determine the function of uncharacterized genes or proteins.

Katerina Kechris, Ph.D.
Email: Katerina dot Kechris at uchsc dot edu
Home Page: http://pmb.uchsc.edu/faculty/kechris/
Research Areas: Development and application of statistical methods for analyzing molecular sequences and high throughput genomic data.

Rob Knight, Ph.D.
Email: Rob@spot.colorado.edu
Home Page : http://www.colorado.edu/chem/people/knightr.html
Research Areas: Large scale genomic analyses using a range of bioinformatics techniques, including phylogenetic methods, computational structure prediction, Monte Carlo simulations, Bayesian inference and finite-state automata.

Dennis Lezotte, Ph.D.
Email: Dennis.Lezotte@uchsc.edu
Home Page: http://pmb.uchsc.edu/faculty/lezotte/
Research Areas: Processing (representation, storage and analysis) complex, multivariate profiles of at-risk individuals, populations, health care processes or health delivery programs to identify, evaluate and modify barriers that affect the health and well–being of systems and their related constituencies.

David Osguthorpe, Ph.D.
Email: David.Osguthorpe@uchsc.edu
Home Page: http://www2.uchsc.edu/pharm/faculty/osguthorpe.asp
Research Areas: Use of computer simulation of biological systems to develop novel molecules that can interact with those systems and contribute to the prevention or curing of diseases.

Tzu Phang, Ph.D. Tzu Phang, Ph.D.
Email: Tzu.Phang@uchsc.edu
Assistant Professor in the Division of Pulmonary Critical Care Medicine at the Department of Medicine.
Research Areas: developing computational and statistical algorithms for analyzing microarray data, with special emphasis on time-course experimental design and alternative splicing detection. He works directly with scientists to translate biological concept into algorithm for rapid exploration and discovery. He is also interested in how best to share the vast bioinformatics and genomics resources between multi-disciplinary scientists.

David Pollock, Ph.D.
Email: David.Pollock@uchsc.edu
Home Page: http://pmb.uchsc.edu/faculty/pollock/
Research Areas: Evolutionary genomics and molecular evolution, particularly the interaction between protein sequence, structure, function, and molecular co-evolution within and between proteins.

Karin Verspoor, Ph.D.

Email:  Karin.Verspoor@uchsc.edu

Research Areas:  Development of algorithms for natural language processing of biomedical texts, text mining and information extraction methods combining symbolic and statistical representations of linguistic features and biological knowledge.
