Research Areas: Protein evolution, and in particular, how changes to protein sequences over the course of evolution may result in differences in observed phenotypic consequences of protein mutations across present-day species. Much of the data required for these studies is scattered in the biomedical literature, so I am also interested in natural language processing techniques for mining this information from free text.

Research Areas: I am developing an integrated tool to look at the result of protein–protein interaction databases using a genomic context approach. Methods of inference used include Rosetta Stone, Phylogenetic Profiles, Gene Neighbor and Gene Cluster.
